It is very instructive to get an idea of how much energy our electrical appliances consume. In its “Save Energy” booklet, CEB gives us this information. We reproduce this information here for convenience.

The above figures are, of course, meant as a rough guide only. The actual monthly consumption of an appliance in a particular household will depend on the power rating of the appliance itself, its frequency of use and the season. For example, fans and air conditioners are used more frequently in summer.
