Book Donation by China International Publishing Group to the University of Mauritius
On 10 September 2026, a 22-member delegation from China International Publishing Group (CIPG), led by Ms. Li Nan, visited the University of Mauritius and the Confucius Institute at the University of Mauritius (CI-UoM). A book donation ceremony was held at the CI-UoM Smart Classroom, attended by Professor Ponnadurai Ramasami, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mauritius, Mr K. Gheeseewan, Acting Chief Librarian, Mrs Lauluck Ramdamee, Acting Senior Librarian, Mrs Yang Rong, Director, Sinoculture Co. Ltd, Mauritius and representatives, CI-UoM Directors, and teachers, and other guests. Professor Ramasami expressed his appreciation for the generous donation of books to the University’s library, noting that printed books continue to provide valuable resources for cultural understanding and in-depth learning.

Ms. Li Nan highlighted the important role of the University of Mauritius and its library in China–Mauritius cultural exchange. She said the donation would help promote Chinese culture and reading in Mauritius while creating opportunities for deeper cooperation. Held during the China–Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, the event further strengthened cultural ties between China and Mauritius and supported the local dissemination of Chinese culture.
