Marjorie Nadal, the student from Intermediate Painting Course at Confucius Institute at University of Mauritius won the Best Skill Award at 2022 Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreigners across the Globe. The Calligraphy and Painting Challenge was organized by the Centre for Language Education and Cooperation in China. Her painting entitled “The Moon My Friend” echoes the theme of Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival and the interpretation of the work is that the full moon nestled in the pine trees is like a jewel in the night sky. ‘Her’ rays penetrate the soul, thus soothing the feeling of loneliness and reminiscent of homeland.
