On 17th October 2020, Confucius Institute at University of Mauritius successfully held the first HSK and HSKK exams since its establishment. HSK Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 were held, as well as HSKK tests at elementary and intermediate levels. A total of 45 candidates took part in the tests.
The six teachers of Confucius Institute successfully passed the HSK invigilator test in May this year, and two of them were qualified as chief invigilator. Since it was the first time that HSK and HSKK exams were organized at CI-UoM, all invigilators were particularly attentive to every aspect related to the conduct of the tests. In addition, CI-UoM conducted training for the invigilators prior to the test, to make sure that the teachers are thoroughly familiar with the preparation work, the test process, incidents and emergency management, and the filling and sorting of test materials. In order to ensure that candidates have no difficulty in locating the examination room and to ensure that they are familiar with the examination rules, Confucius Institute prepared a campus map marking the examination venue, and highlighted the key examination rules when the candidate received his/her admission ticket.
On the day of the test, candidates were admitted in the examination room in an orderly manner. Candidates were required to wear face mask and sanitize their hands as per sanitary measures in place at the University of Mauritius and each candidate was allowed into the examination room after their temperature was taken. The examination process was conducted in strict accordance with the regulations of the test. The invigilators were conscientious and responsible and performed their duties well, the chief invigilators supervised and participated in each step of the examination work, and paid close attention to the situation in each examination room. With the joint efforts of all stakeholders, Confucius Institute successfully completed the examination process.
