UoM Staff Show Invitation Card to CI-UoM staff
On the afternoon of September 12th, the University of Mauritius Staff Club held the long-awaited Staff Day event--the UoM Staff Club Show. The show, which included staff performances and a dance party, lasted three hours. During the two-hour staff performances a rich and diverse range of talents were well showcased. Whether they are lecturers who usually impart knowledge in the classroom, technical experts busy in the laboratory, or administrative staff immersed in paperwork in their offices, everyone unleashed their most enthusiastic talent on stage. The passionate dances, lively songs, spectacular Kongfu performances, and well-executed fashion shows captivated an audience of nearly 400 people. The fusion of Indian, Chinese, and Creole cultures fully embodied the multicultural and multi-ethnic characteristics of Mauritius.
CI teachers and UoM staff performing Tai Chi
Confucius Institute teachers Mr. Zhang Kangfu and Miss Li Xiaoxia, along with three staff members from the University of Mauritius, performed the "Eight Methods and Five Steps" Tai Chi. In the first half of 2023, the Confucius Institute invited a famous local Kongfu teacher to teach UoM staff and students Tai Chi. This performance was a demonstration from the Tai Chi class and showcased the UoM staff’s continuous commitment to practicing Tai Chi. The distinctive Chinese Tai Chi caught everyone’s attention, and received enthusiastic applause from the audience.
UoM staff performed the Chinese song "Sweet" (Tian Mi Mi)
The UoM Staff Club show is an annual event at the University of Mauritius and resumed this year after a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic. All the staff members had been eagerly looking forward to the event and everyone enjoyed themselves on the day. As a member of the UoM family, the Confucius Institute provided support for this event by its participation, engagement and sponsoring gifts, and this reflects its commitment to the welfare of UoM staff.
