The 2025 International Symposium on AI Fashion with Metaverse was organized by the Fashion Design College of Istituto Marangoni (International Institute of Fashion Technology of Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (ZSTU)), and held in Keqiao, Shaoxing, Hangzhou. The Dean of the Institute, Professor Liu Zheng, and the Vice-President of ZSTU, Professor Yao Juming, welcomed all the speakers from China and overseas, and wished them a fruitful and interactive session on this highly relevant topic of AI Fashion.
AI in fashion and the metaverse are merging to revolutionize design, where AI designs unique, personalized digital clothing for avatars, enables virtual try-ons, enhances e-commerce of clothing, and promotes sustainability by encouraging zero fabric waste production. ‘AI tools rapidly generate complex virtual garments, allowing brands and individuals to create futuristic, adaptable styles for immersive digital worlds, bridging imagination with accessible creation.’
Among the speakers, Dr Arjun Khara of the School of Design, University of Leeds, spoke about ‘Teaching Creative Practices in AI-Augmented Metaverse Classrooms’ with emphasis on the development of ‘Craft, Code, Community & Care’. Dr Sabrina Ramsamy-Iranah, Director of the Academy of Design and Innovation, talked about ‘AI Fashion and the Metaverse’ for person with disability and the development of inclusive digital style.
After the talks, the guest speakers and invitees visited the International Design Brand Centre and attended an interactive seminar on Industrial Cooperation.
