First Winter Camp of CI-UoM students in China, 06-17 December 2018

On 06th Dec 2018, seven staff of UoM and three staff of LUX* Resort Hotel participated in the first Winter Camp organized by CI-UoM and hosted by ZSTU. The delegation was headed by Mr Tan Xudong, Chinese Director of CI-UoM and Mr Naraindra Kistamah, Mauritian Director of CI-UoM. The participants thoroughly enjoyed the programme set out for them. They have acquired an enriching cultural experience and a good insight of Chinese culture. The photographs below illustrate some of the good moments enjoyed by the participants!

It has enhanced my desire to learn more about Chinese culture. The hospitality extended to us was outstanding as much as the lunches. I am very grateful and thankful to all for this opportunity to visit China.”

China is an amazing country, it has achieved so much in the last 40 years. I hope to be able to return there very soon!”

Shameem (left): “The activities and the tours proved to be a very enriching experience particularly the guided visit to Songxi ancient village where we learnt about the traditions and culture of ancient China. The interactive mandarin classes were also very helpful in improving our knowledge of the language…”

Sheena (right): "I am very thankful to the staffs of ZSTU and the volunteers for their hospitality and for helping us throughout the trip. The camp was indeed a very rich experience as I embraced a different culture, met new people, and learned more about China. The food is really delicious! Overall, the visits to different historical places have been very enriching…"

Alia: "A unique experience to live. Impressed by the hospitality of the Chinese people, culture and wonderful scenery. Made new friends and enhanced my communication skills in mandarin. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Looking forward to another trip to China."  

Tony: “CI Winter camp has been a very enriching experience. I learned a lot about the Chinese culture and had a taste of the hospitality of its people. Wonderful food and outstanding agenda. The teachers were very friendly and patient with us. Welcomed by snow: a 'wow' experience. "Wo ai Zhongguo".”
