The University of Mauritius organised the 3rd edition of UoM Staff Omnisports in June-July 2024, whereby around 900 UoM staff members participated and competed in 18 sports and recreational activities. The objective of this event was to promote a healthy mind in a healthy body through the practice of regular physical activity and sports.
UoM staff members were grouped into four different Houses and most of them participated in more than one activity. A variety of activities, from indoor games (e.g. carrom, domino, pool) to fun activities (sack race, musical chair, etc.) and sports events (athletics, futsal, badminton, volleyball, etc.), were organised on the UoM premises, the UoM gymnasium and at the Maryse Justin Stadium. Training sessions and preliminaries were held during the month of June 2024 leading to the finals on Tuesday 02 and Wednesday 03 July 2024. A Trophy Award Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday 24 July 2024 to officially declare the Winning House.
