Competition Regulation in Mauritius and the COMESA Region
On 04 October 2024, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities (FSSH) of the University of Mauritius, in collaboration with the COMESA Competition Commission and the Competition Commission of Mauritius, organised a talk on 'Competition Regulation in Mauritius and the COMESA Region' at the University of Mauritius.
The objective of this presentation was to sensitize the academics and students of the University of Mauritius on competition policy and to raise awareness of competition economics, law and consumer protection, thus increasing knowledge and interest in this matter. The COMESA Competition Commission has delivered similar lectures at the University of Zimbabwe and University of Zambia and intends to hold such lectures at other COMESA member states.
The main speakers were Dr Willard Mwemba, CEO, COMESA Competition Commission, Mr Isaac Tausha, Chief Economist, COMESA Competition Commission
and Mr Deshmuk Kowlessur, Executive Director of the Competition Commission of Mauritius.
