The University of Mauritius facilitates the application of VISA for international students.

We encourage you to go through the guidelines below and ensure that all documents mentioned for the VISA application are submitted for timely processing of the VISA.

Students should not travel to mauritius without having issued a provisional student permit by the passport and immigration office, mauritius otherwise, students may face deportation.

Additional Information

Students must submit the following documents for VISA Application:

‘Application to Enter Mauritius’ form (This form is enclosed with the letter of offer. Please ensure that name and signature are same as in passport.)

• Two recent passport size photos

• Photocopy of the first five pages of the student’s passport (including page bearing photograph and date of issue)

• Letter of offer

• Acceptance letter written and signed by student. (Original letter must be submitted.Please ensure that name and signature are same as in passport.)

• A statement undertaking that the student will not engage in gainful activities during the period of studies (The original must be submitted.Please ensure that name and signature are same as in passport.)

• An original Bank Statement for at least 6 months of sponsor bearing the signature of the Bank Officer and the seal of Bank, as evidence of adequate funds of at least MUR150,000/

• Letter from Account Holder (sponsor) duly signed in own handwriting and his/her relation with student

• Photocopy of Account Holder passport/Identity Card

• Original Medical Report (with official seal from Medical Institution) of test HIV, Hepatitis B and a chest X-Ray. It should clearly mention that HIV and Hepatitis B tests are negative and the chest is clear

• Accommodation (Students can access potential landlords on our website). Please submit the following:

    I. A duly signed letter of Accommodation (original) from Landlord mentioning student name and passport number

    II. A copy of National Identity Card of landlord and telephone number

    III. A Utility Bill (CEB/CWA) not least than 3 months from landlord

(Students can request landlord to submit the original accommodationdocuments directly to the Admissions Office mentioning student’s name.)

• Police Character Certificate (The original certificate, which should be less than three months, must be submitted. Students are strongly advised to initiate the process required at their level to get their certificate in time.)

• Secondary School Certificate/Grade 10 Certified True Copy Certificate (Original)
